Update 12/08…After some time I’ve discovered that they do, in fact, a noticeable increase in shelf life. They really are the only choice in re-chargeables. 5*****
I bought these Hybrid battery’s after learning that NiMH are known to drain quickly even while being unused. I did noticed something wasn’t right as I would have to charge them every 2 weeks or so in my Canon S2 camera.
Well, it’s been 2 weeks with the pre-charged and guess what, I have a low battery indicator on the camera but have been nursing them along just to see how long it will take for the camera to shut down. I also bought the AAA for a electric pepper mill and they’re still going after about a month but the regular alkaline lasted a few months so I’m still not convinced if these really are any better in high drain devices.

My son’s school science project this year was to test a set of rechargeable batteries. He conducted two tests on Duracell, Sony, Energizer and Lenmar: 1. Long term storage test where the batteries were fully charged and stored for two weeks before measuring the voltage. 2. Capacity test where randomly selected two batteries were fully charged and put on a regular flashlight until a complete discharge happened. The first test was inconclusive. He repeated the capacity test multiple times and the clear winner was the Energizer NH15BP-4 and the Duracell came in second. BTW, the manufacture’s claim on the overall capacity was not even close to the measured capacity.

When I received my order, I’m glad. It’s inexpensive, because “DURACELL” is a good brand in my mind.
When I used it, I was very disappointment. Although it’s “Pre Charged”, but when I used, It can’t take any photo. When I recharge it, it can take photos. But took only about 10 photos, the low battery icon had appeared.

While these batteries are rechargeable I did expect them to last longer than a couple of days before recharging. The non re-chargeable battery I had in my camera before this lasted a month.
